Hello again and Happy New Year! I wish all of you the best for the upcoming year!
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. We got together with family and friends and had a glorious time.
My mother's side of the family usually meets around Christmas time every year but this year we had to cancel due to the flu hitting the family. Our Dad and Mom both came down with the flu and then Mom got a little worse. She ended up going back to the doctor and she had borderline pneumonia. But the doctor gave her some medicine and she finally got over it. Having the flu is awful and around Christmas is just terrible.
Jacob, our son, celebrated his 8 th birthday on December 27. He has really grown this year! He is now playing the guitar for the group and Christian, Karen & Darrell's youngest son, is playing drums! They are doing a wonderful job. Emily, our little girl, is still singing every time she gets the chance!
On Dec. 21 st we sang at Faith Baptist Tabernacle where Bro. Steve Brandon is the pastor. We had a great time that evening. We sang some of our regular songs and we also got to sing some Christmas Carols. Everyone got to tell of a Christmas memory from their childhood. It was a very special night and we were so glad to be included in their Christmas service.
On December 30, we were in Nashville , TN in the studio recording new music for a new album. This will be our first project on the Morning Star label for the Eddie Crook Co. We feel like we have picked some songs that everyone can relate to. We hope and pray that it touches everyone in some way.
We went to North Gadsden First Congregational Methodist Church on New Year's Eve. This is located in Gadsden , AL and the pastor there is Bro. Gary Baswell. We had a wonderful service! We also had some very special people come with us. Rev. Lamar & Wanda Dykes -Tony's parents, Rev. Bill & Mary Ann Prater - friends from Ohio, Lisa, Lea & Eddie White - friends from our home church and Gene, Tina & Ashley Arnold - friends from Georgia. I think we filled up three benches with our whole bunch!!!! We are thankful for our family and our friends that come and support us when they can!
