Well August is almost gone! The summer is flying by. Soon cooler weather will be here and we will be missing the warm days we had. Hope everyone enjoyed this past summer. I know we did. We vacationed in Myrtle Beach, SC in July and we had a blast! The kids did a lot of swimming and we did a lot of activities while we were there.
The kids started school on August 3! Wow, the summer breaks are getting shorter and shorter! We need to keep all our children in our prayers as they go to school! Keep them safe! Hope you all have a great school year!
I hope everyone has had a chance to hear our latest CD, ?LIVE IN GADSDEN. If you don?t already have a copy, you may purchase from our website, our product table when you see us in concert or make sure to visit Karen, Darrell and Joey at Sonshine Christian Bookstore. We have heard some great things from people that have listened to it. We have been told that it is such a blessing! Isn?t God Good?! We pray that everyone who listens to this tape receives a blessing and hopefully feels the Holy Spirit like we did that night. Please call your local radio stations and request our newest single, ?Coming After Me.?
Last month I shared with you that we are now part of the World Vision family. We received the first letter from our child in Malawi, which is in Africa. We were so excited to read about where Sandres lives. The part that touched us the most was that he thanked us over and over again for being his sponsor. I pray that you will help us in supporting these children. We are trying to save these little lives until a missionary can get there to tell them about the Lord. The next time we see you, please ask us how you can help the many children that needs our help!
I received an e-mail the other day that I would like to share with you. It told of a woman who had been thru several tragedies that happened close together during the Thanksgiving holiday. She felt so low! She walked into a flower shop and the lady could see that she was hurting. The florist asked her if she wanted the Thanksgiving special. Before the lady could answer another
customer came thru the door and asked to pick up his special bouquet. When the florist brought it out it was a bouquet of thorny stems. No roses adorned the top. All that you could see was the thorns. He loved it and walked out. The woman asked the florist in bewilderment about the scene she just saw. The florist had this comment ? ?We thank God for good things in life and we never think to ask Him why good things happen to us but when bad stuff
hits boy do we ask! Dark times are important too. We always enjoy the flowers of life, but it takes thorns to show us the beauty of God?s comfort. The Bible says that God comforts us when we?re afflicted and from His consolation we learn to comfort others.? As tears rolled down the woman?s face she ordered twelve long thorny stems.
In dark times we find it hard to thank the Lord for what is happening because we are so deep in our own troubles. No one knows what others go thru in their hearts, mind and soul. But I am so glad that the Lord knows all our cares and He is there to give us comfort in times of thorns when the roses we cannot see.
Pray for us! We always need your prayers! We always want to thank our family and our dear friends that support us and pray for us! Without you we could not do this! May the Lord richly bless you all!
Lisa
