I hope everyone is enjoying 2009 so far! We had a great Christmas, New Years and Valentine's Day! I am behind on my Information Station! So many things going on!
We are getting ready for the big singing at Chattanooga's Memorial Auditorium. We will be there on Saturday, March 7 with Michael Combs, The Hoppers, The Collingsworth Family and Heirline. If you haven't gotten your tickets you need to! It will be one great night for singing and uplifting our Lord! Please check our website for information on ordering.
We celebrated some birthdays and anniversaries since my last update in July! In 2008, we celebrated birthdays for Tony (9/29), Darrell (10/27), Christian (11/7), Joey (11/21) and Jacob (12/27). Tony and I also celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary on 11/12. Then we celebrated my birthday on 2/14/09 and we will celebrate Emily's on 2/27/09! Wow, we are all getting older! I thank God for each birthday He has blessed us with! Birthdays should be for rejoicing not dreading! Even the older I get I still look at it that way!
As many of you know, and if you read our blog we try to update, you know that Tony's PSA count went up a little in December. And then in January it stayed level so no increasing or decreasing..... And they increased his treatment just a little. He is doing well and he is staying strong thru all this. For the ones that don't know, Tony was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer in June 2008 and is on treatment and is doing well! He has some days when he lacks energy and he gets tired easier. But all in all he is doing well and God is giving him the strength and our family/group to get thru this. He gets up and sings every service we are in! He loves singing for our Lord! He tells his testimony every where we go! We will keep the blog updated on his progress! Thank you all for praying for him! He wakes up everyday thanking God for his healing!
I was walking the other day and I had some things on my mind, like I sometimes do and I was just humming. Not any particular song, just humming a tune. And the words came to my mind "I am walking with my Lord, when I am discouraged, He encourages! He is walking beside me in the valley and even on the mountain. I am walking with my Lord thru it all!" And those words have stayed with me for the last several days! We don't know what the next bend in the road will take, it may be smooth or it may have a lot of rocks making our way rough, but no matter what, God is walking with us! We can turn our heads and ignore Him or we can take Him by the hand and let Him lead us. It's our choice. My choice is to let Him hold me and lead me!
We had a lady come up to us at a singing one day and she told us that she had went thru a storm, and she said she just prayed until she could feel herself in the "lap" of Jesus. Not at His feet but in His "lap". And she encouraged us, that when we pray, don't just pray at His feet but really pray and get close to Him so you can feel Him pick you up and place you in His lap so he can give you comfort! You know, we pick up our children when they are hurting and we place them in our lap to show them how much we really love them and to comfort them. And sometimes all they want to do is cry so we just hold them and let them cry and let them feel our arms around them! That is the way our Lord is...... He wants to take care of us and show us He loves us! And if all we really want to do is cry, He will hold us! That is the most comforting feeling of all!!!!!
Thank you all for prayers you lift up on our behalf and thank you all for all the support! We love each and every one of you!
Until next time........
God Bless You All!
Lisa
